How Many Tattoo’s Do You Have?

Over the last few years it has become very evident to me that most of us unfortunately find and often build our false identity within our wounding. This approach means that as we do this we have a tendency to continue focusing on the wounds and not the healing that is available to us from God.

I have been wondering lately if we do this because we think that Gods grace is only applicable or valid when we are wounded. I wonder if the reason why we are not willing to let go of the wounding once is healed is because we think that Gods grace somehow is not the same when we are healed as it is when we are in pieces. I also wonder if we are too scared to leave behind the familiarity of the pain and the suffering we have become accustomed to live with.

God only knows the answers however I know in my own life I have been able to experience in some areas the wonderful reality of seeing healing as my wounds have been turned into tender scars. These scars I have come to understand will never disappear. In fact they are the ones responsible for helping me to be far more patient, loving, and able to stand greater opposition as these types of scars bring an elasticity into our being that an open wound never will.

So next time when you start to tell others about your wounding consider also sharing your scars, like Jesus did with Tomas, as these are bound to bring far more hope that if you could be healed then they too can have a chance of experiencing the same healing and freedom you are living in.

Lets make sure our wounds do not become our permanent trophies, but instead we allow healing to flow into our lives so that our scars can become permanent tattoo’s of grace within our hearts.

Have a great weekend!
