False Friends

There is a saying that says “show me your friends and I will show you your future”

On face value I understand what this saying is attempting to share with us. What I am wondering today is how was this reflected on the life of Christ? You see when I look at Jesus, and if this saying is indeed true, how come all he did was hang out with the outcasts of society instead of the influential and important ones that would according to this saying have enriched his image and life?

I know in my own life if I want to improve my labels whom I am going to prefer hanging out with. But if my heart is the guide I am thinking that it doesn’t really matter whom I hang out as much as to why I do it. After all Gods love is inclusive not exclusive…

Remember – Everything you need to live a healthy, happy, and peaceful life is already within you and not necessarily within the “right” kind of friends.
