He is Always Enjoying Us

This morning while in the car a song came on by an artist called Carlos Santana. The song written after what I would imagine was probably a passionate love affair with a girl called Margarita. I have heard it before yet this morning a version recorded live in a recent concert in Guadalajara, Mexico was on. There I was playing my imaginary guitar and the drums, dancing away in the middle of the Tel Aviv traffic. Most of those around me I would imagine on their way to work or to drop off their kids to school.

Suddenly without warning as we came to a red light during a drum and horns only solo I closed my eyes and was suddenly transported as in the twilight zone style somewhere else which I now know was my innermost being.

I was so lost in the moment.

There I was dancing in ways I am sure the late Michael Jackson would have been proud of. Feeling every beat of the drums and every blow of the trumpets as one feels the vibrations of the war drums in the silent jungle. Suddenly and without warning I heard a sweet still voice ask me “May I join in?” to which I replied “I didn’t know you liked Santana” to which he followed with “Are you kidding me I created him”

When I opened my eyes I genuinely expected to be somewhere else however here I was still waiting for the light to turn green. I wonder if this is the way Dad enjoys it each time all of us move and operate within the gifts that he has freely given to us. I am going to stick my neck out and say yes he does. Not only when Carlos is striking the chords of that lovely guitar but also when we council, help, teach, mentor, lead, guide, heal, love unconditionally, and build. Yes what we do might go unnoticed by the large crowds, however we can be absolutely sure that we will definitely have the complete attention and enjoyment of that crowd of witnesses the bible talks about but above that, right there sitting in the front row and possibly dancing like this morning will be the one who made us and is one with us.

We were made for his pleasure – even when we don’t know it!
