I Was Wrong…

Some of the misconceptions I have made thus far in my journey:

  • I thought God only showed up at Church on Sunday.
  • I thought that I had to go to Church to be fed.
  • I thought that the bible was the only way to feed my spirit.
  • I thought that God only joined my journey when I prayed a prayer at 19 years old.
  • I thought that God was not interested in my sexual intimate life.
  • I thought God could never show me how to improve my sexual life with my wife.
  • I thought God was only interested in what I could do for him.
  • I thought that guilt and conviction were the same thing.
  • I thought that if I was not accountable I was outside of Gods will.
  • I thought that the only way to reach him and get his attention was by getting it right.
  • I thought that the only way God would bless me financially was if I always tithed faithfully each Sunday.
  • I thought if I didn’t belong to a Church I would end up going to hell.
  • I thought that the only way to keep the devil from touching me was to be under the authority of another man.
  • I thought Jesus was the Son but not the Father.
  • I thought I was saved by grace but had to work really hard at it afterwards otherwise I would lose it.
  • I thought that pretending was part of the Christian walk.
  • I thought that life was supposed to be perfect and victorious otherwise there was something wrong with me.

No wonder the first thing that Jesus said was required from us was to repent (stop using your mind to try and figure out what only the heart can)

Have a great weekend!
