Life is Meant to Flow

I was sitting a few evenings ago on my desk looking at some things on the internet. The sliding doors that led to the balcony were open. Outside it was very breezy however inside I could hardly feel it. Even though the air was howling it was staying outside of the apartment as if the doors were closed.

Suddenly my wife opened a window in one of the toilets which is not far from the lounge where I was sitting. As she did this a huge draft of cool wind broke into the room. As I sat there and enjoyed the breeze cooling me down I began to see that this picture was exactly the same thing that Dad wants to see happen in our lives.

Many of us have this theory and even strife to make it happen somehow, that Dad wants to erase us and take us over. We pray prayers like less of me and more of you Jesus. Though I understand in principle what this probably means unfortunately it is a prayer that I believe will never be answered. You see the God I am discovering does not want to posses us, take us over, nor use us as his decoy.

Instead he wants us to feel him and his life flowing through us. Just like I feel the breeze this evening. When we seek to be taken over and erased our attempts to help this process out blocks this flow through our lives just the same way as if I closed one of the windows. I don’t know about you but I believe that when the flowing bit happens just like the breeze tonight we are refreshed and reinvigorated. As we allow his presence to ripple out of us more of the real us is revealed as we let go of all the false pretenses and strivings which all they do is get on the way.

Let us remember that Dad is not into violating people nor who they are. He wants to celebrate us and our originality. Inspiration to thwart this has nothing to do with him and much to do with us trying to qualify what he has already called perfect and whole.

Therefore  how about we stop trying and start enjoying?
