Where He Shines at His Best!

As I look back in my life I find that the times when I have felt the most alive and connected with whom I truly am have been the times when I have mustered the courage to take a risk at something. As I have meditated about this I have come to a place where I can see that when we take a risk we are actually stepping into the supernatural realm that God operates from. The feeling we have and the place we find ourselves in when we have stepped out is evidence that we have entered into a space which though is strange for us is normal to Him as this is where he shines at his best.

This place is normally found between the tension of control and resignation. Here we loose the anxiety of needing to get there as we realize that we can only be there and that being there is something we suddenly see and accept. Something that is freely given and sustained by grace and love and not by anything you or I can do..

Today more than ever I see that risk taking is always a present by-product in our lives when we are operating from our True Identity. These risks take all shapes and sizes. They can be investing a million Dollars on some new business or saying hi to that person we find really difficult. Or perhaps holding the door for someone we know is undermining us behind our back. Or maybe giving to someone something we know they don’t deserve in our view.

The result is for God to deliver. Our side of the deal is taking the risk as when we do we give him a chance to surprise us with what we could have never produced ourselves if we remained in control or sat resigned on the side of the road.

Have a great week.

PS Starting this week I am going to be sending this devotional out three times a week instead of every day as I have been doing for the last 5 months. I feel this will give you a bit longer to reflect on the short message I share with you instead of having to focus straight away on the following day’s meditation.
