God’s Economy

We have all heard it said “nothing is wasted in Gods economy”. How true are these words though when talking with others most seem to see this principle only working within the realms of material things, career moves, and work. Even though there is much truth that this principle can and is often seen at work in these areas, lately I have seen something different as I continue to cast my nets out a little further.

I have been contemplating how many of us often wrestle and fight with God as we plead with him to take away what we perceive to be negative feelings like anger, anguish, and fear. It is easy to understand why we would want these things to disappear as amongst other things, they have the potential and often do, bring unnecessary shame into our lives as they lead us to behave and think in ways that are not in line with what we believe to be life giving.

I would like to invite you to consider today the possibility that God does not want to take your anger, anguish, and fear away but He instead wants to transform it. What if the anger could be transformed into righteous defiance, and the anguish into a deep passion, and the fear into ferocious love?

You see the anger, anguish, and fear happen when what is originally created to be pure and good is wounded, corrupted, and in pain. They are the symptoms that are produced because what was designed to be righteous, passionate, and loving has been contaminated and shut down. Therefore let us today choose to start seeing our anger, anguish, fear, and whatever else we may struggle with not as a sign that we are bad and in need of fixing but instead that at the core of our beings we are good and capable of amazing things once we have allowed Dad to reconnect us with that part of us made in His Image so that healing can begin to flow and bring real transformation into our lives.
