The Silent Space of Completeness

I don’t know about you but the further down the road I travel the less I have to say and the less things I seem to want or have a need for. Is this happening to you too?

Mother Teresa said,

“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness.

God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass –

grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls…”

Could it be that as the false self dies the remaining prayers we prayed so much in the past and have to almost force them out now is just our false self trying to hang on at any cost? Maybe the reason we become quiet as we enter into the space of our hearts is because we become satisfied and fulfilled like nothing else can or has done for us in the past. Maybe this is why Jesus told us not to be like the hypocrites that make a loud spectacle when they pray in public as he knew that all that noise was just that – noise.

One thing is clear and that is that God rests not because he is exhausted but because he knows that the work is complete. And the moment we begin to settle into the reality of the Kingdom within our hearts we will too.
